To conduct research relating to oral health and acculturation among Chinese Immigrants. Duties include: recruiting subjects; contacting elders for direct interviews; scheduling interviews; organizing location for interviews; conducting open-ended interviews and focus group discussions; organizing and analyzing results of interviews and focus groups; collecting, entering and coordinating data and managing data; maintaining hard and paper copy files on research results; conducting MEDLINE and other library searches; attending meetings; and performing other related duties.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Undergraduate degree in relevant discipline (Masters preferred) plus minimum three years related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Fluently bilingual in English and Cantonese. Experience in working in a research environment involving elderly people and with direct open-ended "qualitative" interviews and focus groups. Knowledge of computer analysis of qualitative information. Computer experience required (Word and Excel). Effective oral and written communication, interpersonal and organizational skills. Ability to work both independently and within a team environment.
