BURNABY, B.C. - Weary students who spent an unexpected night at Simon Fraser University's Burnaby Mountain campus won't be getting a break today.
Classes are scheduled as normal this morning and the unshaven, unwashed students are expected to attend.
This comes after evening classes on the mountaintop campus were cancelled when a sudden snowstorm yesterday afternoon turned steep access roads into skating rinks.
The storm also halted transit to the campus, forcing many students to spend the night at school.
SFU extended cafeteria hours and opened its gym, offering sleeping mats, blankets, water and towels to its overnight guests.
Rain and warmer temperatures have cleared most roads, although conditions are still slushy. TransLink says buses are operating across Metro Vancouver, including routes to Burnaby Mountain and Simon Fraser University.
