Fall scholarship season begins with information sessions By Communications Staff

With the fall scholarship season rapidly approaching, services are available to help graduate students navigate this sometimes confusing process.
The information sessions will be held
in Conron Hall, 2nd floor of University College from 4:30-6 p.m.
The sessions take place on the following dates:
Ontario Graduate Scholarship Program (OGS) Doctoral and Master's Award Program
1st session
Wednesday, Sept. 8
Ontario Graduate Scholarship Program (OGS) Doctoral and Master's Award Program
2nd session
Wednesday, Sept. 15
Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) Doctoral and Master's Award Program
Monday, Sept. 20
Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC) Doctoral Award Program and Master's Award Program
Thursday, Sept. 23
"Consult the Experts" sessions for students seeking help with research proposal reviews are available. This series of informal drop-in sessions will be held at the Grad Club in the conference room.
Scholarship applicants are required to write a proposal of their research for the degree program they are proposing to pursue. A well-structured and well-written proposal is the key to success. Students are encouraged to bring a one-page draft of their research proposal or statement and have it vetted by a member of the SGPS panel of academic experts.
There will be a total of 10 sessions. Each session will have a mixed panel of experts in CIHR-, NSERC-, and SSHRC-related fields.
The 1st four (4) sessions will be held in the SGPS Conference Room (NSC107) starting at 5 p.m. on the following dates:

The final six (6) sessions will be held in the Grad Club Conference Room (Middlesex College basement floor) starting at 5 p.m. on the following dates:

Monday, Oct. 4
Tuesday, Oct. 5
The School of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies website will be updated with all current external scholarship competition information as it becomes available from the agencies.
